Pricing Analyst

Description

Produces and secures the distribution of pricing information (electronic media and catalogs), and maintains a library of analytical programs. Implements pricing changes throughout the company and the customer base.

Maintains accurate pricing data in order management and rebates systems including account setup and data verification; monitors the execution of pricing and price realization.

Participates in and implements price adjustments; makes pricing recommendations on product variants.

Participates in pricing improvement projects; supports various pricing analytical projects such as competitive product, market assessments, commodity costs indices, etc.

Creates reports and analysis as needed.

Provides direct and prompt assistance to customers through various media (phone, email, fax, letter).

Maintains confidential information and manages the use of this information appropriately.

Qualifications

Skills

Market Analysis - Basic understanding of integrated Value Based Pricing methodology, and processes. Learn and understand existing business level strategies and the sources of competitive pricing data, competitor's products, market structure and dynamics.

Market Positioning - Basic understanding of product and market positioning terms and methods to apply.

Pricing Strategy - Basic understanding of integrated pricing strategies across a common set of customers or markets. Awareness of the following tools, techniques and processes: Price Setting, Pricing Policy Creation, Price and Value Communication, Price Structure creation and management, Value Creation (economic value estimation), Price Elasticity of Demand Analysis, Price Segmentation, Competitive Intelligence Analysis, Price Waterfall Management, Product Life Cycle pricing, and Cummins LTA Process

Analytical - Able to organize and synthesize data to identify business opportunities. Able to analyze data and perform basic calculations (gross margin, net present value, discounting, price elasticity, breakeven).

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Accounting, or related subject required.

Experience

Minimal relevant work experience required.

Advanced English is required

Experience in the Automotive segment is a plus.
